First we install on the Vmwareworkstation software. , select Create, use the Setup Wizard, select Custom installation, click Next

Choose to install the operating system later

Client operating system Select Linux System, version select Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 64-bit

Name the virtual machine that will be installed and select a directory to save

Select one core on this processor (the number of processor cores can be freely selected depending on the computer configuration)

Select fixed memory as 2G size (can be determined according to actual needs)

Network type select host mode only

Disk capacity designation 40G

Put the disk file and the created virtual machine under the same directory (easy to manage later)

Select Custom hardware, remove unwanted hardware (sound card, printer), add pre-prepared image files, click OK, finish creating

Turn on the virtual machine

Select the first option to install an existing system

Select Skip

Language Select Simplified Chinese, and click Next
Keyboard selection American keyboard

Select a basic storage reserve setting

Because it is new, and there is no data, so choose to ignore all data

Naming host Names

Select Asia Shanghai Time zone

Set the password for the Administrator root user (in principle, to meet the password complexity requirements, this is only for the purpose of learning experiment can be set
Simple and easy to remember password)

Select Custom Create Layout

Make a custom Create system partition, first create the root partition (/) and swap partition (swap), and then customize the creation of additional partitions based on actual requirements
Create the root partition (/), swap partition (swap),/boot partition (System boot partition),////////partition (normal user home directory),/OPT partition as shown


Swap partition size is generally 1.5-twice times the system fixed memory





Format a partitioned partition to write to the hard disk

Choosing a Desktop Installation

Go to install read bar wait

Select reboot after reading bar completion

When the reboot is complete, you can see the Welcome page and click Forward in the lower right corner.

The default option is to agree to the license agreement

Do not make update settings

Do not create a normal user when you can temporarily select

Set the system date time


To restart

After restarting, log in as Administrator root and enter the set password


You can see the contents of the Linux system desktop, the mouse right click on the blank face, choose to open in the terminal, open the pseudo terminal into the character operator interface

You can enter the appropriate command to view basic information, hostname, version information, network card information

Enter the absolute path, edit the configuration file for Nic 1, set the IP address, gateway and mask, and save the exit

Restart the System Network Service

Check the IP address of the newly-installed NIC 1

Enter the command ping the host virtual network card VMNET1 IP address, detect interoperability, display has been connected

Open Remote Connection tool Xshell for remote connection, select New Connection, enter host name and IP address for SSH connection

Click Terminal to select the encoding type UTF-8

Then set the keyboard

Open the session, select the session you just established to connect

Select Accept and save, enter the root user and password to log in
