As with previous versions, SharePoint Server 2016 requires Active X controls to implement multiple features, and without Active X support, some features will not work correctly. I recommend using only 32-bit Internet Explorer 11 (and the available update versions) to ensure full functionality in SharePoint Server 2016. This is not to say that the browsers listed in the table above (for example, Firefox and Chrome) will not work exactly the same as SharePoint Server 2016, except that it confuses users about why certain features do not work in these so-called "supported" browsers.
