After the partition is complete, the disk is formatted to generate the file system.
Command format: MKFS [-T file system format] device file name <== use MKFS [Tab][tab] to view Linux supported file system formats
Example: Mkfs-t Ext3/dev/sda6;
The lack of the above command is not able to specify the volume label of the filesystem, the size of the block, and the number of inode, so the system also provides the MKE2FS command.
Command format: mke2fs [-B Block Size] [-i inode size] [-l volume label] [-CJ] Device name
Parameter description:
-j: Add log function, equivalent to generate a ext3 file system.
-I: Specifies how much capacity is given to an inode, which is equivalent to the number of inode definitions.
Example: Mke2fs-j-L "vbird_logical"-B 2048-i 8192/dev/sda6;
The recommendation I is larger than the B setting, otherwise it will result in more inode than block.
