Solution to failure to share files with Vmware Tools

LINUX environment: won the bid for puhua Linux Desktop 5.0

Vmware Version: 6.5.2

The following prompt appears when installing Vmware:

Your compiler "/usr/bin/gcc" version "gcc version 4.3.3 (Ubuntu 4.3.3-5ubuntu4)
"Is not supported by this version of VMware Tools.

This prompt appears many times. Some functions cannot be installed, such as folder sharing.

Cause: the value returned by gcc-v 4.3.3 is gcc version 4.3.3, while that returned by the vmare-config-tools.pl check is gcc version d. d. d, so the version check fails.

Solution:

Execute export LC_ALL = C in Shell

Then re-execute/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl
