Microsoft. NET Compact Framework, as a subset of Microsoft. NET Framework, is designed specifically for developing powerful Pocket PC applications. This section describes how to use Visual Basic. NET to develop a Pocket PC program. If you start development in this area, we recommend that you start learning from here.
In this article, you will learn how to develop wireless Device programs, such as PDAs, using Smart Device Programmability of Visual Studio. NET 2003. First, you will form a simple Windows form program of Smart Devices.
After completing this experiment, you will understand:
How to quickly create a Windows form program and run it on a wireless device.
In this exercise, you will create a Windows form in Visual Basic and it will run on the Pocket PC. You will use Microsoft Visual Studio. NET 2003 and Development Environment (IDE) to create, edit, and run this experiment.
1. Task 1 create a new project in IDE
· Point to START | Program (P) | Microsoft Visual Studio. NET 2003 | Microsoft Visual Studio. NET 2003.
· Select file | new | project menu command.
· In the new project form, select Visual Basic Projects.
· In the template form, select the Smart Device Application .)
Enter "PocketPcApp" in the Name box and select a suitable location to save the program.

· Click OK. The smart Device Application Wizard dialog box is displayed.
· In the target platform list, click Pocket PC (default)
In the list of project types you want to create, click Windows application (default)

· To create a new program, click OK.
The PocketPcApp project is added to the solution. By default, Form1 is added to the project and displayed in Windows Forms Designer.
