Note: After installing ubuntu 1404, you cannot see root logon by default. You also need to modify the configuration file, but the modified file is not the same as that of ubuntu 1204.

1. In the shell window, common users log on first and switch to the root user:

Su root

2. modify the configuration file sudo/usr/share/lightdm. conf. d/50-ubuntu.conf. Add the following content:

Greeter-show-manual-login = true

3. the restart takes effect.

4. Notes:

4.1 An Error found when loading/root/should be reported after restart /. profile Error. Ignore it first. After entering the system, modify gedit/root /. modify the configuration file profile as follows:
