My friends who have read "jailbreak" must have a deep impression on Mahone, a high IQ agent. This guy picked up Michael's hard drive with a jailbreak plan from the bottom of the lake and restored the data through technical means. Mahone grasped all of Mahone's jailbreak plans based on the data, and began to track Mahone's madness. If Mahone knows how to clear the data in the hard disk, I believe it is now far away from the world and live a rural life.
During our daily use of the system, we will inadvertently leave a lot of traces, although these traces do not bring us the same as jailbreak, however, people with ulterior motives can use these traces to understand our computer habits. For example, various operation records will expose your important files, which is certainly not what we want. These traces will also let others know what webpages we browsed, what forums we logged on to, and even impersonate your identity to access the Internet through the Cookie files. Even if you are a pure Office lady, the important files you have edited may also be mined from the depths of the system, all of which are derived from the traces of Office software. After using the computer, what are the traces of the system? How should we clear these traces?
Protect privacy and eliminate system traces
When using a computer, you must deal with the operating system, so it is inevitable to leave traces in the system. This usually exposes our operation habits, such as the files we opened recently, the time and times we used computers, and programs we ran. So the first thing we need to clear is the traces of use left in the system.
I. The "my latest document" is open
Take Windows XP as an example. Click the "Start" menu, and there is a "my most recent document". When you move your mouse over this menu, the running history of our file (1) will appear ). You can find out what files we opened here. If the files we opened happen to be important, the consequences will be very serious.

There are two ways to disable this function:
Method 1
Step 1 right-click the Start menu and select Properties.
Step 2 on the "Start Menu" tab, click the "Start" menu, and then click "Custom ".
Step 3 switch to the "advanced" tab and click "clear list ". Deselect the check box before the "list recently opened documents" option. If you do not want to completely disable this function and just want to clear the list of files you just opened, you can click "clear list.
Method 2
Step 1 click "start"> "run" and enter "gpedit. msc" to run "group policy ".
Step 2: Expand "user configuration"-"management template"-"Taskbar and Start Menu", and double-click "do not keep records of recently opened documents ", on the "Settings" tab, select "enabled" and click "OK" to save (2 ).
Figure 2 disable the function with Group Policy 232622
Step 3 double-click the "clear records of recently opened documents at exit" button to perform the same settings.
After the settings are complete, the system will not record the documents we recently opened.
2. Keep running records
In the preceding section, we used "Group Policy" to disable the "my most recent documents" function. Now we can go to "run" in the "Start" menu to see it, does the "gpedit" We just entered exist in the drop-down box. msc "? "Run" in the system automatically records the programs that have run.
Step 1: click "Start Menu"-"run" and enter "register regedit.exe" to run "Registry Editor ".
Step 2 locate "HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Explorer RunMRU" and delete the record key values (3 ).

3. Do not sell me system logs
The most detailed operation record of a user is its log system. System logs include applications, security, and systems. Once a problem occurs in the system, the three parts are recorded completely. Similarly, our operation habits are easily exposed here.
Figure 4 system log function 232624
Step 1 go to the system's "Control Panel"-"Management Tools"-"Event Viewer ".
Step 2 if you want to delete application logs, right-click the application and select clear all events.
Step 3 if you want the logging function to "hide one eye" for users' operations in the system, click "application" and select "properties ", switch to the "filter" tab and cancel the check before all items in the "event type", so that the log function will no longer record operations in the system.
4. Problems with clipboard
Many of my friends will cut and copy the password because they hate the cumbersome password process during the Internet access process, but forget to clear the content in the clipboard afterwards, as a result, you only need to press Ctrl + v to view the original password. In addition, if you frequently use the system's "cut" function to edit important documents, the document content may also be exposed.
After the system is used, log off the user or restart the clipboard so that the clipboard content is automatically cleared. Otherwise, you should use the clipboard to copy useless data or files before leaving and replace them with the content in the current clipboard.
The six swords go out, and there is no trace of online surfing.
Compared with the traces left after using the system, we leave a lot more marks when surfing the internet, and the harm is greater. What websites have you browsed, what content has you searched for on Baidu, and which images have been viewed, which can be easily known by others. In addition, your system may also store many Cookie files left after websites and forums, you can use your ID to log on to your website or forum without entering your username and password. The "Auto-completion" function of IE will expose your password to everyone without reservation. Next let's start clearing the traces left after surfing the Internet.
1. "Automatic completion", password grave
All friends who use IE know that it has a function called "Automatic completion", that is, when we enter the password for the first time, IE will remind you whether to save the password. If "yes" is selected ", next time you log on, you only need to enter the user name and the password will be automatically entered. If this computer belongs to you alone, this function is very convenient, but if this computer is public, "Automatic completion" will become your nightmare. Using a tiny tool named "Protected Storage PassView" can expose your password.

So how can we prevent this phenomenon?
Step 1 run IE, click the "Tools" menu, and select "Internet Options ".
Step 2 switch to the "content" tab and click the "auto complete" button. In the displayed "Automatic completion" Configuration window, select "Clear password" and "clear form" to clear the previously saved "Automatic completion" password.

Step 3 Remove the check box before all options in the "auto-completion applied" tab.
After setting, the "auto-completion" function of IE will be disabled. When we enter the password in IE, the password will not be saved.
2. "cookies" are not sweet
The harm of Cookie files has been mentioned above. It allows others to log on to the website or forum with your ID unconditionally. Similarly, this is a convenience on a private computer and a hazard on a public computer.
Step 1 go to the "C: Documents and Settings USERNAME \ Cookies" folder and delete all the files.
Step 2 run IE, click the "Tools" menu, and select "Internet Options ".
Step 3 switch to the "privacy" tab, click the "advanced" button, select "Overwrite automatic Cookie processing" in the Cookie option, and then select "reject" for both the first and third-party cookies ".

If you do not want to delete all Cookie files and want to delete some of them, you can use the built-in search function to search for the "Cookie" folder with the website domain name as the keyword, find and delete it.
Iii. Clean IE history
After entering and browsing the Web site in IE, the web site will be stored in the history of IE. Next time you want to visit this page, you only need to click the small arrow on the right of the IE Address Bar, all browsed web addresses are saved here. Here, others can clearly know what web pages you have browsed.
Step 1 run IE, click the "Tools" menu, and select "Internet Options ".
Step 2 click "Clear history" in the "History" project ".
Step 3 change "days for storing web pages in history" to "0" and click "OK" to save the settings.

Iv. Internet temporary files, a treasure of hackers
Temporary IE files are used to speed up the next time you browse the Web page. Therefore, when we first browse a Web page, some elements in the web page will be saved in the temporary IE folder, examples and videos. After you open this folder, all the Saved Web page elements will be displayed one by one. If you browse some websites you are not supposed to browse, the contents of these websites will also be saved.
You can go to the "Temporary Internet Files" folder in the C: Documents and Settings USERNAME \ Local Settings directory and delete all the Files.
In addition, you can go to "Internet Options" and click "delete file" in the "Internet temporary files" project.
Tip: after the last method is used, the file will remain. The first method is recommended.
5. Destroy the IE file backup warehouse -- index. dat
Index. dat is an index file cached by IE. It records the URL, access time, and history accessed through a browser. It is a backup file of IE browser, Cookie, temporary file, access
