Make the IIS Web server no longer reject ASP Web pages

Attracted by ASP dynamic web pages, I decided to use Dreamweaver to create an ASP-format School homepage. However, when I replace the Htm Web page in the Web server with the newly created ASP Web page, I find that: newly created ASP web pages cannot be viewed on all computers on the campus network (the school uses IIS of Windows 2000 Server to publish a web page ).

ASP is a server-side script environment, that is, when the script runs on the server (note that it is not a client), the Web server completes all the work. That is to say, programmers do not have to worry about whether the browser can process ASP pages, because the Web server will complete page conversion in place of the browser. Because the Web Server is implemented through IIS in Windows 2000 Server, the author first focuses on IIS Site Settings. Go to "Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Internet service manager", select "default Web site", right-click and choose "properties ", search for ASP-related settings in the "properties" setting box. In the "document" settings column, set the Index of the home page file. asp is added as the default document. In the "application settings" column of "main directory", click the [configuration] button, in the "application ing" box, you find that ASP-related application ING has been added (see the figure below), but in the "application debugging" box, if "enable ASP server script debugging" and "enable ASP client Script Debugging" are not selected, select them.

After completing the preceding settings, exit the default Web site attribute setting box. Browse the School homepage in the browser, and the fault persists. It seems that the problem is not related to IIS settings. Why? I suddenly remembered that Windows 2000 Server has the event log function. It is better to see if it has been recorded. Right-click "My Computer" and choose "manage". In "system tools", click "Event Viewer". In "application, there is an error prompt. Double-click it and the content is displayed as "IISADMIN service discovery account IWAM_MYSEVER is invalid. Some IIS functions may fail ". Is the IWAM_MYSEVER account related to this? For server security, I disabled many default accounts, including IWAM_MYSEVER. Then I went to "Computer Management> Local Users and Groups", clicked the "users" folder, double-click the IWAM_MYSEVER account, and canceled "account disabled. After that, you can browse the School homepage. ASP web page is now the next day!

So what exactly is the IWAM_MYSEVER account? It will make IIS in Windows2000 not recognize ASP webpages! Originally, the IWAM account is a built-in account automatically created when IIS is installed. It is mainly used to start Internet information services for applications outside the process. The name of the IWAM account varies depending on the netbios name of each computer. The common format is IWAM_Machine, it is composed of the prefix "IWAM", the connection line "_", and the computer's netbios name. My computer's netbios name is MYSEVER, so the IWAM account name on my computer is IWAM_MYSEVER, which is very similar to the way in which the IIS anonymous account ISUR_MACHINE is named.
