Regardless of whether Chrome OS is successful or not, I think its philosophy is cross-age and should be studied and learned. Google's Web OS concept first broke through the Browser through Chrome Browser, and broke through the operating system through Chrome OS, making it a truly meaningful Web OS. In comparison, some WebOS and Facebook concepts are much narrower. 1. Bill Gates: Chrome OS is Linux and there is nothing new.

Traditional operating systems include Kernal mode and User mode, while desktop applications are user mode programs developed through OS APIs. 2. Chrome OS is Cloud OS.

Therefore, we cannot call it Cloud OS, and Web OS may be the most appropriate title at present, although the definition of Web OS is not clear.

3. Chrome OS will subvert Windows.

Chrome OS is intended for netbooks, which is quite limited in itself, so it is impossible to subvert Windows. Google cannot be so stupid as to subvert Windows. The more practical goal is to occupy a certain market share of netbook and make Microsoft continue to earn no money on netbook, in addition, it is possible to keep entering the notebook and platform at any time, which puts huge pressure on Microsoft. Microsoft does not make money on netbooks, which has a great impact on the Windows business. I wanted to reverse the situation through the release of Windows 7 and it was completely disrupted by Chrome OS.

4. Chrome OS compatibility may be poor, or there are too few applications.

Applications on Chrome OS are Web applications, which can be run on Chrome OS as long as they can be run in Chrome browser. Because standard cross-platform and cross-browser Web applications are adopted, there are basically no compatibility issues, especially when Chrome browsers become increasingly mature. Similarly, web applications are rich and rich, and there is no problem of few applications.

5. Chrome OS cannot do anything without leaving the network.

Before Chrome Browser was released, Google had an offline solution, Google Gears, and integrated it into Chrome Browser. Therefore, after the network is disconnected, you can still view/write emails, documents, and so on.

6. Chrome should provide APIs.

Chrome is a new concept of Web OS that no longer supports desktop applications, so there is no traditional API.

7. Chrome should be able to run Office.

Google Docs is the Office on Chrome.

8. Chrome is safe and will not be infected with viruses.

No matter how perfect the design is, the program will have bugs, and there is no absolutely secure system or software. What's more, the hack technology is also evolving. Therefore, there is no need to believe this ad-like slogan.
