The WePay platform is used to facilitate payment by groups, such as companies that often pay salaries to a large number of employees. Bill Clerico, founder of WePay, said that the service had been the most popular among the various fraternity houses so far, and that the service had been noted by roommates who often needed to share the cost. He said that the site's launch of the one-month period, the volume of transactions per week has increased by 50%.
WePay recently also launched a booking function, but not as formal as booking website Eventbrite. Clerico says the sorority can use this feature to sell tickets to its members, and the club can use this feature for sales of special events.
WePay has been injected into many well-known investment companies and individual investors, including the incubator company Y Combinator, angel investor Dave McClure.
