The solution to the problem of Linux not being full-screen under VMware virtual machines is as follows:
1. start the virtual machine and start Redhat6.4.
2. Click "View"-then tick the Autofit window option. (The general version of VMware virtual machines will default to this setting).
3. This step is the key, the specific action is: Click on "virtual Machine ", select the "Install vmware-tools" option.
4. The next steps are made in Linux in the virtual machine:
(1) Open Linux cdrom to see if there are VMware tools files, if any, the loading of the "Install VMware Tools" CD-ROM file is successful;
(2) Mount cdrom to /mnt/cdrom directory, the specific command is:
Mkdir/mnt/cdrom (Note: Create mount point directory)
Mount/dev/cdrom/mnt/cdrom (Note: Mount the optical drive file to the specified directory)
(3) Extract the files from the CDROM :
Tar-vxzf/mnt/cdrom/vmwaretools-<x.x.x>-<yyyy>.tar.gz
(4) Enter the extracted directory, switch the current ordinary user for the superuser, the command is as follows:
A) CD Vmware-tools-distrib (note: Switch directory)
b) Su–root (NOTE: Switch Super user identity)
c) Follow the onscreen prompts to enter the super user's password
(5) Run the following command to install VMware tools:
./vmware***.pl
(6) then according to the system prompts, select the relevant options. The installation succeeds in about 5 minutes. When you're done, restart Linux.
