2. Connect the device to the computer, or insert the emulator into the cradle.

   Description
   You must have Windows Mobile Device Center or Microsoft ActiveSync installed on your computer.

4. On the desktop computer, start Windows Explorer, and then go to the folder drive: \program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Compact edition\v3.5\devices\wce400 or Wce500\ theCPU architecture type.

   Description
   Files in wce400 are designed to run on a Windows CE 4.X-based device, such as a Pocket PC 2003 device. Files in Wce500 are designed to run on Windows CE 5.X-based devices, such as Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows Mobile 6 devices.

6. Use Windows Explorer to copy the following files to a folder on your device:

   1. Sqlce.platform.processor.cab

   2. (optional) sqlce.dev.platform.processor.cab-Query Analyzer application

   3. (optional) sqlce.repl.platform.processor.cab-replication support.

   Description
   These CAB files are named according to their supported platforms and CPU architecture types.

8. On the device, start File Explorer, and then go to the folder where the CAB file was copied.

10. Click or tap the CAB file to start the installation.

12. File Explorer will automatically call Wceload.exe to install the SQL Server Compact 3.5 CAB file. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
