Hackers' Lizard Squad Sales: $6 per month
The hacker organization Lizard Squad released a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack tool Lizard Stresser this week to help anyone attack websites and online services. The Organization recently launched DDoS attacks on Microsoft Xbox Live, Sony PSN, and other gaming networks.
Lizard Stresser is actually a stress testing tool that helps you understand the performance of your network in the face of DDoS attacks. In a DDoS attack, hackers initiate a large number of requests to the website server, resulting in excessive server pressure and crash.
Lizard Stresser can also be used to attack competitor websites. However, the Organization stated in its authorization terms that this tool is limited to testing users' own servers and websites, and users are not allowed to abuse this tool. However, the user is responsible for the consequences of using the tool, and the organization is not responsible for this.
Lizard Stresser provides eight types of services, ranging from $6 to $130 per month. The cheapest service can attack a website within 100 seconds, and the most expensive service can continue to attack for 30 thousand seconds, that is, more than 8 hours. Currently, this service only accepts payment through bitcoin, but Lizard Squad says it will accept payment through PayPal. This payment system does not support VPN connections. Therefore, if the service purchaser wants to be anonymous, he/she needs to find other ways to hide his/her identity and location.
The website of Lizard Stresser shows its attack capability, that is, the traffic that users can attach to the attacked target. Currently, the average traffic is 2 Tbps, and the total network traffic is 30 Tbps. Insiders believe that this promotion is too exaggerated.
Commercial DDoS attack tools are not uncommon. Many hacker discussions provide such tools. Although it is likely to be exaggerated in publicity, the scale of Lizard Stresser attacks is still unique. In addition, Lizard Squad has a successful attack record, so the organization hopes to attract potential users through Twitter based on its reputation.
