1. Download Ubuntu7.10 ISO and solve it by yourself. 2. download the boot file after downloading the Ubuntu7.10 CD image in a partition root directory (FAT32 or NTFS format can be, tested) (such as D: \ later, then download the boot file initrd.gz and vmlinuz,: http://ftp.sjtu.edu.cn/Ubuntu/dists/gutsy/main/installer-i386/cu
1. Download Ubuntu7.10 ISO and solve it by yourself.
2. Download the boot file
After downloading the Ubuntu7.10 disc image, place it in the root directory of a partition (both FAT32 and NTFS formats are supported and tested) (such as D :\),
Then download the boot files initrd.gz and vmlinuz installed on the hard drive ,:
Http://ftp.sjtu.edu.cn/Ubuntu/dists/gutsy/main/installer-i386/current/images/hd-media/initrd.gz
Http://ftp.sjtu.edu.cn/Ubuntu/dists/gutsy/main/installer-i386/current/images/hd-media/vmlinuz
Download the above two files and place them in a partition. Here we place it in C :\
C: \ initrd.gz
C: \ vmlinuz
AMD64 load here try: http://ftp.sjtu.edu.cn/Ubuntu/dists/gutsy/main/installer-amd64/current/images/hd-media/
(Not tested, because I am not amd64)
3. Prepare the partition to use software such as the partition magician on the hard disk to separate an ext3 partition (preferably greater than 5 GB, and mine is 12 GB) as the linux Root partition,
Split a swap partition with a size of 2 times the memory (512 m is the swap zone if the memory is) as the virtual memory of linux. The most basic difference is: one/swap, one/
4. Prepare grub and boot the installation program.
Then download a grub for dos ,:
Decompress menu. lst, grldr, and grub.exe in this file to C :\,
Use Notepad (or the "WordPad" that comes with Windows) to open the menu. lst, delete the text and add the following code ("#" can be included or excluded, and "#" is used for annotation ):

After restarting, select start grub in the boot menu and then select install ubuntu to start hard disk installation.
