How does SQL server transfer a local package"

Source: Internet

In SQL Server, we often use "Local packages" to import and export databases or perform other complicated operations. However, after creating a new database, how can these packages be transferred? Currently, I know two relatively simple methods:

1. After the new database is installed, the entire MSDB in the old database is moved over. In this way, the jobs and packages are updated.

2. If there are not many packages or there are not many packages to be updated, you can save the packages as DTS files (structured storage files) in the old database ), in the new database, save the DTs file to SQL Server (Select "Data Conversion service"-> right-click-> open package-> select DTS file. Then, save it as SQL Server.
