q: I am using a Windows XP/2000 dual-system. Because the computer configuration is too low, I often open folders with Avi and other video files, the computer speed is very slow, so I always wanted to remove the media file preview function of the system. Is there a way to disable it?

A: in Windows XP, the video file preview file "shmedia. dll" plays a decisive role. You can simply close the dynamic link file. Enter "regsvr32/u shmedia. dll" in "Start> Run" and press Enter. The "dllunregisterserver succeeded" dialog box in "shmedia. dll" indicates that the preview function is disabled successfully. If you want to restore it, enter "regsvr32 shmedia. dll. If this option is disabled in Windows 2000, open the folder to be previewed, right-click the blank space, and select "Custom folder". The custom folder wizard appears, there is a "select template" item. Select "simple" to disable preview.
