How Linux properly shuts down MongoDB

Some friends say you can close mongodb with the following command:

Killall MongoDB#or-9 MONGO-pid     

The above method does turn MongoDB off, but it's not the right thing to do, and MongoDB provides a command to shut down the database:

First you need to go into the MongoDB directory Bin/mongo, connect to MongoDB, and then execute the following script:

Use admindb.  RunCommand("shutdown")     

The first line above switches to the Admin database, and the second line performs a close operation

You can also use the db.shutdownServer() command
