How Linux systems Enable FTP services

In the Linux operating system, the FTP function is one of the most commonly used services, usually write code is done under Windows and then FTP to Linux. This FTP service is essential.

However, in the newly installed Linux operating system, the FTP service is generally not enabled, and some do not even install the service. The following is a log of the installation and startup process for the FTP service:

Installation (under Red Hat):

#yum Install VSFTPD

To start the FTP service:

#service vsftpd Start

Install the FTP client component (to verify VSFTPD)

#yum Install FTP

Verify:

#ftp localhost

Enter user name, password OK
