How SQL Server connects through IP from the extranet

SQL Server 2005 is installed on a single server, and everything is OK. Recently, SQL Server 2008 needs to be installed because of the table type parameters to be used, but not even when installed. This machine can be connected by machine name.

Later found that the need to change the port. I do not know if this is the only way, I hope the master correct.

Turn on ConfigurationManager, find TCP/IP, right-click on the attribute, select IPAddress to the last Tcpall, and change TCPPort to your own port.

Then you need to add port when connecting, like this 10.10.10.10sqlserver2008,1400, you can connect successfully. The connection string is also added to the port number.

Finally, note that the port number is added to the firewall exception.
