Nowadays, virus and Trojans infected with exe programs all like to modify system files, and generally cannot restore the system files that are infected with viruses to their original state. Are there other methods besides reinstalling and copying them from other machines?
You can also extract the most original and safest "original" files from the installation disk! However, the files in the installation disk cannot be copied or pasted directly, and the extraction methods of XP and Vista/2008 are different because they use different installation methods.
1. Extract the files of the XP installation disk
Carefully observe the files on the XP installation disk. You can see that the vast majority of files in the i386 directory are "EXPLORER. EX _ "is actually a compressed file. The file name is the same as the decompressed file name, but the extension is different from the file size. Therefore, you cannot directly change the suffix.
There are two ways to decompress the file:
Method 1: Use a compression software such as 7-zip to decompress the file directly. In addition to free 7-zip, it is also convenient to use because it integrates the "7-zip" menu into the right-click menu of all files (or folders) by default. Of course, you can decompress the package using WinRAR.
Method 2: Use the Expand command of XP to decompress the file in the command line window. For example, expand D: iworkflow explorer. EX _ C: release. The i386 directory is the directory where the installation files in the XP installation disk are located. This command is often used to restore the system under the Recovery Console.
2. Extract files from the Vista/2008 installation disk
Open the Vista/Vista program. This program does not have a graphical operation interface. The following uses Vista as an example to describe how to use it:
Step 1: run the command prompt as an administrator and run the CD command (for example, "CD iworkflow command" is used to access the iworkflow sub-directory of the current directory to the folder where imagex.exe is located.
Step 2: run the imagex/info h: sourcesinstall. wim command to view the system version included in the current installation CD. For example, the Vista installation disk contains the Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, and other versions. When you see
Windows Vista ULTIMATE
This section describes the image of index 4 as the installation file of Vista ULTIMATE.
Step 3: Use the command such as imagex/mount g: sourcesinstall. wim 4 d: msdn to map the installation image marked with 4 in the G disk installation file to the d: msdn folder. In this case, open d: msdn to extract the original file just like entering the normal folder. You do not need to decompress the file.
Step 4: uninstall the image after use. The command for the above operation is as follows: imagex/unmount d: msdn.
TIPS:
1. If imagex.exe is used illegally, go to the control panel → add new hardware and install WIMFLTR. INF manually.
2. the folder mapped to imagex must exist. If a file exists in the original folder, the file will not disappear after the ing, but it is "disguised" by the Vista Installation File.
