The following are the installation commands in Ubuntu 13.104 and 12.04:
Step 1: add the kde SC 4.11 Library
Open a terminal window (Ctrl + Alt + T) and enter the following command in the terminal window:
Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: kubuntu-ppa/backports
Press enter to run the command. You need your administrator password.
Do not close the window after execution. Let's continue.
Step 2: Install kde SC 4.11
Enter the following command in the terminal window and execute it:
Sudo apt-get update & sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
Okay. You only need to wait until the download package of kde SC 4.11 is downloaded and installed. (This may take some time, because there are still many package files ). After the installation is complete, you need to restart the computer.
After restarting, log on to the page and you will see the KDE selection.
Enter your logon password to view the KDE Desktop. Feel it.
Of course, if you find that KDE is not your taste, you can uninstall it. You only need to execute the following command in the terminal window to uninstall KDE:
Sudo apt-get install-y ppa-purge
Sudo ppa-purge ppa: kubuntu-ppa/backports
Sudo apt-get autoremove
