1. Get command-line procedures
The SQLite command line program (CLP) is the best choice to get started with SQLite by following these steps to obtain the CLP:
1). Open the browser to the SQLite homepage, www.sqlite.org.
2). Click the download link (Download) option at the top of the page to access the download page.
3). Scroll the mouse to "precompiled Binaries for Windows", select Sqlite-shell-win32-x86-3071401.zip (First item), click Download.
4). Use the Unzip tool to unzip it. The zip file contains a Sqlite3.exe file that you can use SQLite from the location where you unzipped the file, and if you want to run the CLP from any directory, you need to copy the file to the Windows system path. By default, the path to work in Windows is under the root partition (C:\Windwos \system32).
5). Open the Run window, enter CMD, and bring up the Windows command Line window.
6). In the Command Line window, enter sqlite3 and press ENTER, and the SQLite command line prompt will appear. When the SQLite command line prompt appears, enter. Help, and a list of similar commands is shown. Exit the program after entering. Exit.
Now you have a copy of the SQLite CLP installed on your system that you can work on.
If you are going to use SQLite at this point, follow the next section (CLP in Shell mode).
