How to manipulate Linux surveillance cameras with motion

This article describes how to use motion to manipulate the camera under Linux.

• Installation

Install Motion

• Configuration file

Enter the command after the command to edit the configuration file,

Vim/etc/motion/motion.conf

Change as follows:

/dev//tmp/Motion #输出的图片和视频存放的位置 Locate 768     #画面质量webcam_motion on #只有在画面变化的情况下才拍照webcam_localhost off #允许远程访问ffmpeg-cap_new on #画面有运动的话就用视频录下来ffmpeg_video_codec MSMPEG4 #视频的编码

If you enter the above command and do not directly display the price of the content, you can delete the file/ETC/MOTION/.MOTION.CONF.SWP.

Also, be aware of the daemon and webcam_localhost two options above.

• Start the service

Execute Restart Service command: sudo service motion restart

After execution, if the following error message appears, it indicates that motion is currently disabled and needs to be turned on.

[Warn] Not starting motion daemon, disabled via/etc/default/motion ... (warning).

Locate the file/etc/default/motion, and modify the value after Start_motion_daemon in the file to Yes.
