Working Machines, whether in books or desktops, are generally Windows systems. In work environments, sometimes development or testing machines are not enough. using virtual machines to build environments is a convenient and quick way, but sometimes you need to put files on Linux from the Windows system, and the virtual machine software has the function of sharing the virtual machine and the physical machine directory. I didn't use VMWARE, but I used VirtualBox to install virtual machines. When I shared the directory, I found a method online. There are a lot of people on the Internet. I will summarize it here.
Objective: To share a folder on a physical machine with a virtual machine to facilitate mutual use of files.
Environment: the physical machine Windows 7, VirtualBox, and the virtual machine Redhat5.4.
Steps:
1. The physical machine and virtual machine work normally
2. In the running Virtual Machine window, select: Device --> install enhancement function, and a VBOXADDITIONS _ is generated on the desktop _ <版本> And then enter/media/VBOXADDITION _ from the CONSOLE _ <版本> /, There are a lot of shells in this directory, and then run sh VBoxLinuxAddition. run to execute the installation. After the installation is successful, reboot the machine.
3. Create a data space for the directory you want to share in this step. To put it bluntly, select a directory that you want to share on Windows to map to Linux for mutual use. The method is: Device --> allocate data space, and then select a directory on Windows. For example, c: \ shared
At the same time, create a folder on Linux, such as/shared under the root directory, to map to C: \ shared in Windows.
4. mount-t vboxsf shared/shared.
Shared is the name of the Data Space c: \ shared allocated in step 1. This name can be modified. The default value is shared, and/shared is the ing directory in Linux.
Areas that are prone to problems:
1. Different OS tools are installed in different locations.
2. The mount operation fails because the two mapped names cannot be found. It must be set or the input is incorrect.
