Desktop browsers typically use WiFi (accurate to 20m) or IP targeting (only accurate to city level and possibly fake address).

Mobile devices typically use GPS (accurate to 10m and can only be used externally),

WiFi or GSM/CDMA network signal positioning (accurate to 1000m).
