Implementation of Sybase to Oracle connection server

The interconnection of different database platform is commonly called the heterogeneous service of database, now each large database can realize such heterogeneous interconnection, but the specific implementation technology of each manufacturer is not the same, such as: in Sybase inside called Connect OR CONNECTION profile, The interconnection with other databases is achieved through ODBC.
The test environment for this article is:
Operating system: WINDOWS2000 SERVER (Traditional system)
Install the database: SYBASE8.0 SERVER (English) and ORACLE92 client (English version)
Specific steps to achieve:
1. Require the installation of Oracle client software and SYBASE8.0 Server Software on the PC.
2. First Oracle to establish service NAME
Such as:
# TNSNAMES. ORA Network Configuration File:d:\oracle\ora92\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
3. Configure Windows ODBC Data source:
Start Menu-"assembly-" System management Tool-"data source (ODBC)-" Enter configuration User DSN or System DSN can: Add-"Select Oracle ora92home-" Custom data source name (optional: oracletest)-"TNS SERVICE name Name (required!) As the user ID of the test-at above to enter Oracle's database-"OK."
Configure and test ODBC complete!
4. Configure the connection server in SYBASE8.0 server:
Start Sybase
Select the connection Profiles option in the tools in the menu
Select New button appears new profile, enter your connection name at name, select Copy profile, in connection profile Select Adaptive SERVER ANYWHERE8.0 sample after OK, appear E DIT CONNECTION Profile screen,
User: Enter the username for Oracle's database
PASSWORD: The password of the user who entered Oracle's database
Select the ODBC DATA SOURCE name below to select the Oracle ODBC that is completed above
Oracletest, select OK to complete!
When accessing a table, use the format: [Connect server name]. [Oracle users]. [Table name]. More detailed and specific use here no longer repeat.
