At the WWDC in Monday, Apple's senior vice president for Software engineering, Craig Federighi, mentioned that iOS 7 would include more than 1500 new APIs, including Ibeacons, MFI game handles, and new multitasking features. These APIs will provide developers with many new capabilities to try, lay the groundwork for better software and hardware in the future, users can experience new game technology, location features, and so on, and here are some of the more creative API features:
Ibeacons: According to Macworld, Ibeacons was designed to use Bluetooth Low-power for micro-positioning, which allows iOS devices to obtain location data using Bluetooth 4.0.
Share Menu AirDrop: All applications that join AirDrop support can share photos, documents, and other content within the application.
Apple map: IOS 7 allows developers to integrate many of the advanced map features into their applications, including 3D viewing mode, orientation based route information, and map based image data.
MFI Certified Game handles: IOS 7 will support MFI, which is made for iphone game handle hardware certification. This allows the manufacturer to create a dedicated iOS game handle for iOS, allowing the iphone and ipad to become the ultimate gaming machine. The game can be designed according to the game handle frame, which allows seamless linking. Below is the MFI certified game handle concept map, from the Apple developer repository.
The Sprite kit:sprite Kit Framework allows developers to create high-performance 2D games that control location, size, rotation, gravity, and quality data more easily. This technology includes built-in physical performance support to make the animation look more realistic and include additional game effects such as particle systems.
Game Center: IOS 7 incorporates a new turn-game mode and includes a new player authentication and secure game score transfer. These features will reduce the impact of jailbreak equipment on the game Center score.
Multitasking and background downloads: Apple's new multitasking API allows users to update and download content in the background intelligently. Twitter apps, for example, may use this new feature to update content in the background while the iphone doesn't have any tasks, keeping the data updated without sacrificing the battery. Push notifications can also activate content downloads.
Cross-app audio features: This API allows audio to be transferred between applications, making it easier for Apple iOS devices to create music.
60fps Video capture: IOS 7 allows you to use 60 frames per second to record video
Point-to-Point connection: This new data transfer API allows the user to discover the attached device and open the data transfer protocol directly without the network.
