Although I have previously done development on Linux, I am not familiar with Linux systems because I Telnet directly to a public machine. Considering that I will develop on Linux soon, I decided to install a Linux system on my own.
Linux is an operating system, but it has many release versions, such as RedHat, Debian, Suse, fedora, Gentoo, slackware, and ubuntu. After consulting with colleagues and online surveys, I decided to use Ubuntu because it is easy to install and upgrade and has good support for Chinese characters.
Yesterday, I browsed the Chinese Ubuntu official website (http://www.ubuntu.org.cn) for one night and got a general idea of the installation process (http://wiki.ubuntu.org.cn/Ubuntu6.06Install ). This afternoon, I started to install unbutu. This is the first time I have installed a Linux system. It is inevitable that I feel uneasy, for fear that operation errors have damaged the original windows system on the hard disk, for this reason, I would like to invite colleagues who are familiar with Linux to accompany me throughout the process.
I am using a CD installation, after starting from the CD, there is a beautiful installation interface, according to the installation guide (http://wiki.ubuntu.org.cn/Ubuntu6.06Install) in the prompt step by step to execute, without encountering any obstacles, it's just a matter of caution when partitioning. Ubuntu can automatically identify existing windows partitions. Previously, I reserved a 20 GB unformatted partition for Linux. In ubuntu, I divide it into two partitions, one primary reiserfs partition and one swap partition of MB.
The installation process is so easy that Linux has never been better. As long as Linux is user-friendly and has the same outstanding performance as its performance, it will be able to compete with windows one day.
