Windows to go is a new installation from Windows 8, through which we can create a complete Windows 8 system environment that starts with a U disk.
You need to prepare: You need to prepare:
- A USB disk with at least 32GB capacity (or hard drive)
- Install Windows 8 PC
- Windows 8 DVD ISO file
- Imagex.exe (After installing Windows 7 automated Installation Kit, you can fileswindows AIKToolsamd64 or C:Program AI from C:Program The file is found in KToolsx86)
set up windows to go USB drive device:
- Installing Windows to go requires a separate partition, and we use Diskpark for partitioning. Run Cmd.exe with administrator status
- Make sure your USB drive is plugged into the computer and successfully identified.
- Enter "list disk" in the command prompt line and return to see your USB device in the list
- Enter "SELECT Disk #" and return (#是你的U盘的序号) to select the USB disk as the current device
- Clean the partition and enter
- Create a new partition by entering "create partition primary"
- Format Partition "format Fs=ntfs quick"
- Set partition as active partition, enter active
- Enter "Exit" Exit DiskPart
now opens the ISO file for Windows 8 and copies the same folder Sourceinstall.wim to ImageX.exe.
at the command prompt, enter the ImageX.exe folder and enter "Imagex.exe/apply install.wim 1 x:" (replace x as the disk in the system for the U disk)
When the
is installed, enter "BCDboot.exe x:windows/s x:/F All" (replace x as the disk in the system for the U disk)
If the above steps are completed successfully, congratulations, you have a USB flash drive for Windows 8 to go.
