A nasty bug was encountered when installing SQL Server today. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Installation Environment: Windows Server R2 Enterprise SP1 installation media: En_sql_server_2008_r2_enterprise_x86_x64_ia64_dvd_520517.iso (the installation of the completed version should be Microsoft SQL Server R2 (RTM)-10.50.1600.1) is installed to the point where it is almost complete: ' is not a valid login or you does not have a permission. Installation failed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Installation Failure Reason: A bug in this version of the installation media: The computer's login account name is the same as the computer name, resulting in this error. Workaround: Replace the installation media or change the computer name or computer login account name (remember to first uninstall and reload)
