1. Download the source code package,

1. # Cd/usr/src
2. # Wget http://cdnetworks-kr-2.dl.sourceforge.net/project/sylpheed-claws/Claws%20Mail/3.8.1/claws-mail-3.8.1.tar.gz

2. Compile and install

1. # Tar claws-mail-3.8.1.tar.gz
2. # Cd claws-mail-3.8.1
3. #./Configure -- disable-libetpan
4. # Make
5. # Make install

Note that claws_mail depends on gtk-devel and glib-devel or a later version, by default, gtk2-devel and glib2-devel have been installed on rhel6.2 systems. If these two libraries are not installed on your system, use the yum-y install gtk2-devel glib2-devel.

3. Configure the calws-mail client,

3.1 start calws-mail

# Claws-mail

3.2 use the setting wizard for the first time

3.3 fill in as needed,

3.4 fill in the server and account information for receiving emails,

3.5 enter the email sending server, user name, and other information

3.6 The name stored locally is defined as needed

3.7 The settings are complete,
