Install TuxGuitar 16.04 in Ubuntu 1.5 and later
TuxGuitar is a free open-source guitar 6-line spectrum Editor, which has recently reached version 1.5. After more than a year of development, TuxGuitar 1.5 has the following new features:
- The string count ranges from 1 to 25.
- The new Oxygen Dark theme creates the dark skin
- New synthesizer host plug-in and FX support
- Native VST support (only for Windows/GNU Linux) is used for the new synthesizer host plug-in.
- Zomm inbound/outbound support
Install TuxGuitar 1.5 Through Snap
The 1.5 release can be obtained through the Linux application packaging format.
1. for Ubuntu 16.04, open the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and run the following command when installing snap for the first time:
Sudo apt-get install snapd-xdg-open
2. then install snap from Ubuntu:
Or run a single command:
Snap install tuxguitar-
It has a large installation file because it comes with all necessary libraries.
Download/install TuxGuitar through DEB:
If a previous version is installed, delete it before performing the following steps.
The DEB binary file of TuxGuitar 1.5 can be downloaded at the following URL:
Download TuxGuitar 1.5 (. deb)
Capture the x86.deb of a 32-bit system or x86_64.deb of a 64-bit system.
Run the command in the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) to install it:
Bkjia @ bkjia :~ /Desktop/Linuxidc.com $ sudo dpkg-I tuxguitar-1.5-linux-x86_64.deb
If any problem occurs, run the following command:
Sudo apt-get-f install
For those who insist on installing the OpenJDK-9-jdk, run the following command to fix it manually:
Sudo apt-get-o Dpkg: Options: = "-- force-overwrite" install openjdk-9-jdk
Uninstall:
To uninstall the deb software package, run the following command on the terminal:
Sudo apt-get remove -- autoremove tuxguitar
