Preface: to prepare for virtualization, the company will virtualize the physical machines that are relatively high N virtual machines so that more application services can be served.

1, use Vshere client to connect to the physical machine above, select "Configuration"--"Memory"-"data Storage", right click Select "Browse Datastore", you can upload the file, as shown in:
?

2. Upload the Centos.iso files that need to be installed.

3. Right-click to start creating the virtual machine and select the installation type

4, enter the virtual machine name

5. Select the target storage for the virtual machine files, select the operating system of the virtual machine (Linux system)

6. Select the operating system type of the virtual machine

7. Select the amount of disk space used by the virtual machine

8, before completing, select "Edit virtual machine settings before completion"

9, select the number of cores for the virtual machine

10. Select the ISO file to install in the virtual machine, and choose to install it from CD.

11, need to be in the device state, "connected" and "Power on the connection" selected, so restart the virtual machine can be installed, as follows:

12. Start the Linux system of the virtual machine from the CD-ROM installation, turn on power, and then view the console as follows:

13, installation mode selection

Install or upgrade an existing system installation or upgrade of existing systems

Install the system with basic video driver during installation with the base graphics driver

Rescue installed system to enter the repair mode

Boot from local drive exits installation from hard disk boot

Memory Test RAM Test

Since the import of the existing ISO system, so here Select the first item, install or upgrade the current system, enter.

14, if there is a question about whether to test the CD media, select "Skip" to skip the test.

15, continue to the next, select "Next"

17, keyboard mode option is "U.S. Chinese", American keyboard

18, install the device selection, basic storage device mode, select "Basic Storage Devices".

19, ignore these original data, select "Yes,discard any data"

21, time zone, time zone selection: Asia/Shanghai, pull down select "Asia/shanghai", then click "Next",

22, set the password for the root user, then enter the password, click "Next"

23, disk partition selection, custom layout, so select "Create Custom Layout", then click "Next"

24, start creating disk, click "Create" button, select "Standard Partition" option, click "Create"

Can see the capacity of the hard disk, I show here is 60G, now custom partition.

Note: Before partitioning, you first want to plan well, how to partition, I here the partition as follows:

HDD Total 60G, memory 8G;

/boot directory allocation of 200M, swap2g (memory is less than 2G, set to twice times the memory, memory is greater than or equal to 2G, set to 2G, my memory here is 8G, so this I set 2G); root/Allocate all remaining disk space

Special note: For the official production of the server, remember that the data disk must be partitioned separately, to prevent problems in the system to ensure the integrity of the data. For example, you can divide a/data to store data.

(1), create/boot directory, 200M

(2), create swap partition, 2G

(3), create primary disk partition, all disk space

25, disk allocation is complete, click "Next"

26, in the pop-up window, select "format" to begin the format operation.

27, then select "Write Changes to Disk" in the pop-up window to format the write operation

28, then finish formatting, select "Next" action

29, select the "Customize Now" button, then select your own installed components:

The default is: Minimal (minimum); if it is the first time to learn, it is recommended to choose: desktop, if it is used as a formal server, the recommended choice: Minimal (minimum), here Select: Minimal, and then select Custom, select the "Customize Now" button, Click on the "Next" button to proceed to the next step.

30, select some basic network service components and Perl components, Language Pack components, and server components.

(Perl is required, otherwise you cannot install the VMware tools, system managerment tools, network Tools required, otherwise you will not be able to surf the internet, others can choose)

Others can install the Linux system itself more need under the Yum installation, select OK, click "Next" for the next step.

31. Start Installing Package Components

32, wait to install the components, need to restart, click the "Reboot" button to restart.

- , after rebooting, use the Root The user logs in and goes in to configure the virtual machine's network.

Configure Network IP Address:

Ifconfig eth0 10.2xx.1.xx netmask 255.255.255.0
Configure the Router address:

Route add add-net 0.0.0.0 GW 10.2xx.1.1
Restart the Network service:
Service Network restart

34,check under Network, cmd under ping server

c:\users\administrator>ping 10.2xx.1.xx

Pinging 10.2xx.1.xx with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 10.2xx.1.xx: Byte =32 time =69ms ttl=63
Reply from 10.2xx.1.xx: Byte =32 time =84ms ttl=63
Reply from 10.2xx.1.xx: Byte =32 time =66ms ttl=63
Reply from 10.2xx.1.xx: Byte =32 time =63ms ttl=63

Ping Statistics for 10.254.1.50:
Packet: Sent = 4, received = 4, lost = 0 (0% missing),
Estimated time to round trip (in milliseconds):
Shortest = 63ms, longest = 84ms, average = 70ms

C:\users\administrator>

OK, to this, the basic Linux virtual machine to build, later can be installed according to their own needs of the service components.
