Oracle RAC (12.1) installs virtual machines on Linux, step-by-step wizardtoday we will see how to install
C version 1 RAC (real application cluster) database 2 Linux 64-bit virtual machineuse vmware or Oracle VirtualBox. Oracle's "C" C represents "
Cloud"
There are some important and interesting changes when installing a C compared to one G RAC. Oracle seems to have added a lot of new interesting features at 12 degrees Celsius.
Please note that we need 2 virtual machines each with 3 GB of memory. So if you have enough memory on your laptop/PC or server, then you can host the virtual machine in the same box or you can use 2 boxes to connect to each other via your local network.
Hardware requirements:
with dual-core processors or more
dedicated for 3 GB RAM per VM
Up to GB of space per VM
because we do not use shared storage virtual machines, we share disks from one node to another via NFS. The following are the VMS that can be represented. Please note that this is not recommended for production setup, this is just a demo for learning purposes installed on the virtual machine. Production we must use external storage in San and NAS storage.
We can also use the shared disk technology VirtualBox, but because we want to keep virtual machines independent of virtualization technology, we only use NFS.
Note: We also plug and Play types can use virtual machines as well for those who want to learn or explore Oracle RAC without hassle with installation and configuration. Use the links on this page to get these VMS if you want to skip the installation steps and start learning/Oracle RAC technology exploration directly.
for all others you can set up your own VMS in accordance with this guide. Please feel free to contact me if you are facing any problems using the installation guide. Also always help users to share knowledge in the comments section.
here are the steps to achieve this goal.
1. Create virtual machines and install 64-bit Linux from previous posts (general steps, not specific to this guide)
Please note that since we have published a document that installs Linux x86-64 using VMware virtual machines, I will not create a duplicate post here. See the article except that the hostname should be the same dbhost1 full name is dbhost1.paramlabs.com. You can use Linux 5. Times or 6 times.
2. Add additional virtual network cards and perform prerequisites in Linux
3. copy/clone This virtual machine creates a second node and modifies the details of the host
4. set up shared file systems and other prerequisites
5. Installing Oracle Grid Infrastructure
6. Installing Oracle database software and database creation RAC
