Linux-based full-system Backup Recovery

Hey, of course, decompression and installation are definitely the best installation method, which has many benefits!

Backup

1. Prepare a live CD for startup. The sooner the better, the better. We recommend cdlinux, knoppix, Ubuntu, or Gentoo live CD.
2. Load your LINUX partition after it is started. If there is a separate Boot partition, remember to load it, or you want to back up the data of other partitions.
3. Now we can package it, such as CD/mnt/Linux & tar-jcvf/mnt/bak/linux.tar.bz2 * (/mnt/bak loads a partition used to store backup files, /mnt/Linux is the partition used to load the root directory of the Linux system ).

Restore

1. Prepare a live CD for startup.
2. It is best to format your LINUX partition and load it correctly after it is started. (Note: If you have backed up the content of multiple partitions, it is best to mount other partitions according to the directory structure before backup before recovery)
3. You can unpack the package now, for example, tar-jxvpf/mnt/bak/linux.tar.bz2-C/mnt/Linux.

This method is also suitable for quick installation of a Linux system. If it is a SRC-based distro, you 'd better install the same machine as the original machine configuration, at least the CPU, for example, P4, otherwise, your compilation optimization will be self-defeating. Remember to modify/etc/fstab and/boot/GRUB/grub on the other machine for restoration. conf. If it cannot be started normally after unpacking, use live CD to start and load the partition, and then run chroot to reinstall grub.

Be sure not to back up the system in the installed Linux. This will cause some problems. If you have to know why, try it. Then you will know!
