/bin: Storage System command directory ; Both normal and super users can execute, in single-user mode

/sbin/: Save and set system environment commands. Only Superuser can have execute permission. However, some commands can be used to allow normal users to view.

/usr/bin/: Storage System Command Directory , both ordinary and super users can execute. But cannot be performed in single-user mode .

/usr/sbin/: An unnecessary system administration command to store the root file system. For example: most server management programs. Only for super users.

/boot: Save the system startup-related files . such as: Kernel files and boot loader grub files, etc.

/der: Set File save location, mainly hardware device files.

/etc: where the configuration file is saved, all service profiles in the system that use the default installation method (RPM installation) are present in this directory.

Such as: User account and password, the startup script of the service. configuration files for common services.

home directory for normal users, each directory must have a default login location when creating a user. Is the home directory for this directory.

such as: User1 's home directory is/home/user1

/bin; function library save location for system call

/lost+found: When the system crashes unexpectedly or the machine shuts down unexpectedly. The resulting file fragments are placed in this directory. When the system starts, the Fsck tool checks this directory. and repair corrupted files

Note: This directory only appears in each partition, for example:/lost+found is the root partition of the backup recovery directory;

/boot/ Lost+found is the backup and recovery directory of the boot partition;

/MNT: Mount the directory, and it is recommended to mount additional devices. such as: USB flash drive, the partition of the mobile hard disk and other operating system.

/media: Mount directory, recommended for mounting media devices such as floppy disks and discs

/misc: Mount directory, recommended to mount the shared Directory for NFS service , as long as it is an empty directory that has been established as a mount point

Note: In the above three mount directories, the administrator is free to decide to mount the directory

/OPT: where to place and install additional software

/proc: virtual file system . The data in this directory is not saved in the hard disk, but in memory. The kernel of the main storage system, process. External device status and network status lights

Example:/porc/cpuinfor: Saving CPU information

/porc/devices Save device Driver list

/porc/filesystem is to save the file system list

/porc/net Save Network Protocol information

/sys: Virtual File System   ; similar to/PORC, are stored in memory, mainly to save the kernel-related information

/root: home directory for super users .

/srv: Service Data Catalog  ;   After the system service starts,.. You can save the required data in this directory.

/tmp: Temp directory. used to store temporary files. All files in this directory can be accessed and written to.

Recommendation: Do not save important information in this directory. It is best to empty the directory every time you boot

/usr: system software resources Directory; Most software for storage installation

/usr/lib/ function Library save location for application invocation

/USR/X11R6 graphical Interface System save location

/usr/local Manual installation of the software save location, it is recommended to self-installing source code package save it in here

/usr/share The resource file where the application is saved. such as: Help documentation. Description document. and Font directory

/USR/SRC Source Package save location namely: Manual download source package and kernel source package storage location

                            Recommendation: manual download of the source package existence:  /LOCAL/SRC directory

                                kernel source save to:  /usr/src/linux   directory

/var: Dynamic Data Save location primary Save cache. Logs and files generated by the software's Operation

/var/www: RPM Package installed Apache Homepage home directory

/var/lib where to save data to be called or changed during a program run

/var/log System Log Save location

/var/run the PID (process ID) after service and system operation, save location

/var/spool Place the queue data directory.  Is the data queued for use by other programs. such as: Message Queuing and print queue

/var/spool/mail newly received message Queue save location

/var/spool/cron System's timing task save location
