Linux Desktop cookies make the startup application different!
Recently, you have heard many complaints about the new Unity interface of Ubuntu. I remember that when Unity started to emerge, I just left Archlinux. However, Unity indirectly leads to a consequence: as people are not satisfied with it, people are beginning to focus on other desktop environments and Linux releases. And if your system supports Unity, no one will be opposed to making it more pleasing to the eye.
So today I recommend you an absolutely original program starter: Gnome-Pie. You may think that he is inspired by the World of Warcraft plug-in "OPie ". They share a similar concept: the keyboard shortcut can open the circular menu, from which you can select an application or command to start. The main idea behind this design is that the user does not have to remember commands, but needs to remember their directions and operations. Its pie design allows pointers to start each application at the same distance. In addition, we have so many custom key combinations that greatly improve efficiency and maximize ergonomics.

Install Gnome-Pie
On Ubuntu, Gnome-Pie can be obtained from the universe repository. However, for some reason, this version is not very stable and often crashes. As an alternative, I suggest you download it from the official source.
- $ Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: simonschneegans/testing
- $ Sudo apt-get update
- $ Sudo apt-get install gnome-pie
In Fedora, you can use the following command:
- $ Sudo yum install gnome-pie
For Archlinux, you can find it in AUR.
Basic usage of Gnome-Pie
By default, Gnome-Pie has a relatively reliable initial configuration. First, you can call it up with Ctrl + Alt + a, which will display the basic applications of your system.
Next, press Ctrl + Alt + B to bring up the second circle, which will display the bookmarks of your file manager.
Third, perhaps the most useful, it will display your application menu, press Ctrl + Alt + space to call up.
Fourth, only used to control the music player. As you can guess, the shortcut key is Ctrl + Alt + m.
