Gzip Command: File compression
Gzip is GNU software and is the preferred compression tool for Linux systems, and the-Z option compression of the TAR Archive command also uses Gzip/gunzip to compress/unzip files.

Grammar:
gzip [options] [File or directory ...]
Parameters:
-C or--stdout or--to-stdout to output compressed (decompressed) content to the standard output device and retain the original file
-D or--decompress decompression
-L or--list if the target file is a compressed file, then the compressed size, the uncompressed size, the compression ratio, and the extracted file name are displayed.
-R or--recursive recursive compression
-T or--test test to check the integrity of compressed files
-V or--verbose for each file, showing the file name and compression ratio.
-V or--version display version number
-NUM Specifies the speed of compression-1 or--fast for fast (low compression ratio)-9 or--best slow (high compression ratio)
