Linux FreeType Installation

FreeType Download: http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/freetype/

The command line is as follows.

[Email protected] root]# cd/usr/local/src/
Enter the directory where the software source package resides

[Email protected] src]# tar zxvf freetype-2.3.5.tar.gz
Unpack to freetype-2.3.5 directory

[Email protected] src]# CD freetype-2.3.5
Enter the directory freetype-2.3.5

[Email protected] freetype-2.3.5]#./configure–prefix=/usr/local/freetype
Option –prefix=/usr/local/freetype to install the software into the/usr/local/freetype directory at installation time

[[email protected] freetype-2.3.5]# make && make install
Compiling and installing the software source code files

If the installation succeeds, the bin, include, Lib, and share 4 directories will exist in the/usr/local/freetype directory. And when installing the GD2 library, specify the location of the FreeType library file by adding the "–with-freetype=/usr/local/freetype/" option to the Configure command option.
