When we use Yum to install software, we often find that our Yum source does not have the software, need to go to wget, and then Configure,make,make install, too frustrating.

In fact, CentOS also has a source called EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise), which has more than 10,000 software, more than 163 of the source is also strong, it is strongly recommended to install.

1, before the installation, we first look at our existing source:

, the current source has 8,127 software

2, install Epel yum source

1. Command installation:

-y install epel-release

2, manual Installation:

Select the appropriate type for the system architecture, select the appropriate package, I use the x86_64, will enter the directory to find the corresponding package, the installation method is as follows:

rpm -vih http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/x86_64/e/epel-release-7-6.noarch.rpm
