Linux Mint uses terminal installation IBUs wubi and Pinyin Input method
Press the Ctrl+alt+t shortcut key to open the terminal, and then run the following command. IBUs is the Input method framework, Ibus-table-wubi is Wubi Input method engine, Ibus-pinyin is the Pinyin input method engine.
sudo apt-get install IBUs ibus-table-wubi ibus-pinyin
Set the Input method framework for Linux Mint
Linux Mint does not have the default Input method framework, we can use the Im-config tool in the terminal to set an input method framework. Im-config means configuration of input method (Input method config). Enter the following command:
Im-config-n IBUs
-N is the abbreviation for name. The above command tells the Im-config IME that the framework name is IBUs.
Add wubi or Pinyin input method to the IBUs IME frame
Enter the following command in the terminal to open the configuration window of the IBUs IME framework
Ibus-setup
Setup is the meaning of configuration, setting. The first run of this command will have a hint that Ibus-daemon is not running, do you want to start it? We choose "Yes"
Click OK again.
Now go to the IBUs configuration window. Select Input Method (Input method label), and then tick customize active input methods. You can add wubi or pinyin ime.
Select the right input method and click the Add button on the right.
After re-login to the system, you can use CTRL + SPACEBAR to switch the IME.
