In a Linux system, it's a waste of time and space to install fedora in a traditional way, so what's the easy way to install fedora? In fact, using BFO can quickly install Fedora, The following small series for you to introduce the Linux use BFO installation Fedora method.
What is BFO?
BFO, or boot.fedoraproject.org, is a way to boot a host and install or run other media over the network. It works much like the pxeboot environment. Detailed introduction can refer to official instructions.
How to use BFO?
BFO has provided files that can be used separately for DVD/CD, U disk, floppy disk, and LKRN mirrors. The file size is very small, so the old small capacity of the U disk can be competent. Click here to download a variety of media boot files.
U disk version As an example, in the download of the corresponding U disk version of the Mirror (BFO.USB), you can use the DD command to write the mirror to the U disk.
"DD If=/pathto/bfo.usb OF=/DEV/SDB
Where Pathto is the directory where the downloaded BFO.USB files are. /dev/sdb is the name of the U disk device you want to use. Once you've written it, you can use it to install Fedora.
Install Fedora via BFO
Prerequisite: The computer can connect to the stable Internet, the computer may boot from U disk, CD-ROM, floppy disk, and can set the boot order to these devices first.
The following is also a U disk as an example:
1, insert U disk, boot. Normally, you'll see an interface like Figure 1:

2, and then there will be similar to Figure 2 interface (if you unfortunately only see the black screen boot: Do not worry, please read the text):

3, select Install currently supported Fedora releases, and then enter, you will see as shown in Figure 3, the current still supported Fedora release list:

4, here, you can directly select the Fedora version you want to install, and then enter the fedora after the installation process, as shown in Figure 5:

5, of course, you can also select the version to be installed, press the TAB key, display or edit options. Here you can change the default kernel, kernel image, and source address to the other address you need. For example, you can change to a faster source address. You can also add a path to the kickstart file to automate the installation.
If you're unlucky enough to see only the black screen boot: prompt, then just enter the content after the prompt and return to the car. In this case it is best to be patient and careful, because accidentally typing the error requires a full re-enter. You might say, what a long string of things, who will remember it! In fact, this is not complicated, just three URLs. The first one is the location of the Vmlinuz, the second is the position of the initrd.img, and the other is the position of repo. These three URLs generally point to a source and therefore are not particularly complex. Of course, black screen boot: the chance of a prompt is not big.
The following process is the installation process of Fedora, no need to say more.
