III. Installation

1. create the directory mkdir/usr/lib/win32, mkdir/usr/lib/codecs, and mkdir/usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin/default, create directory mkdir/usr/local/share/mplayer/font

2. copy all files decompressed by all-20071007.tar.bz2 to the new codecs directory.

Command: tar-jxvf all-20071007.tar.bz2, mv all-20071007/*/usr/lib/codecs (note * indicates all)

Copy all the files decompressed by win32codecs-20040703.tar.bz2 to the new win32 directory.

Command: tar-jxvf win32codecs-20040703.tar.bz2, music win32codecs-20040703/*/usr/lib/win32

3. install divx4linux-20020418.tar.gz.

Command: tar-zxvf divx4linux-20020418.tar.gz, cd divx4linux-20020418, execute./install. sh

4. extract and install the main package of the player.

Command: tar-jxvf Mplayer-1.0pre8.tar.bz2, cd Mplayer-1.0pre8,

Then enter make install (installation)

Create the mkdir-p/usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin/default directory (-p indicates that no directory in this path will be created)

Put all the files in the unzipped package in the new directory, cp./iTunes-1.1.tar.bz2/*/usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin/default

6, install the font, tar-jxvf font-arial-iso-8859-1.tar.bz2, put all the files under the font-arial-18-iso directory in the package to the corresponding font directory, cp font-arial-iso-8859-1/font-arial-18-iso/*/usr/local/share/mplayer/font

After playing the game, you can enter the gmplayer movie name in the shell to bring up mplayer to play the movie.

3. create an icon on the desktop. On the gnome desktop, right-click and choose new session. enter mplayer in the name and command gmplayer. The icon is in/usr/local/share/pixmaps.
