The first step

Run the Setup File Wizard, click the first option to install the SQL Server engine, similar to the other version installation steps.

Step Two

Install the SSMS (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio) administration Tool, click Install SQL Server Administration Tool, jump to the installation package download page, and then download the Ssms-setup-chs.exe installation package.

You may experience problems when you install Ssms-setup-chs.exe:

Error:microsoft report Viewer for SQL Server RC3: Setup is missing an installation prerequisite:
-Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server RC3.

The problem above is to install the Microsoft report Viewer for SQL Server RC3 component,

Open the Microsoft®sql server®2016 Feature Pack page, click Download, select the components to download in the Components list:

Click the download component to install it and then reinstall SSMs.
