Microsoft's helplessness with linux
GuideRecently, Microsoft proudly announced that it is becoming a platinum member of the Linux Foundation. 15 years ago, former CEO Steve Ballmer described Linux as cancer. Although this action is meaningful to Microsoft, many people in the open-source world regard Microsoft as the enemy and disagree with Microsoft's expansion in the open-source industry, microsoft's entry into the Linux foundation may slow down the development of Linux and eventually kill it.
Although this sounds like a huge conspiracy, Jim Zem, executive director of the Linux Foundation, said in an interview with the media that Microsoft is now a completely different company and Microsoft is now a platinum member of the Linux Foundation, it is obligated to support the mission of the Foundation to support Linux development, open source code, and open source. Microsoft is committed to doing so and has made many contributions.
Joining the Linux Foundation as a platinum member is not the only thing Microsoft does. The software giant has open source some of its. NET, PowerShell, and Edge browsers. As a top-level Microsoft product, Windows 10 is equipped with an Ubuntu sub-system. Microsoft tries to combine the two worlds.
