Network operation--set BIOS password BIOS related knowledge:
The BIOS is an abbreviation for the basic input-output system, which is responsible for initializing the system's hardware during power-on and testing it to ensure that the system is functioning properly. If the hardware is not normal, immediately stop working, and the wrong device feedback to the user. The BIOS contains the system power-on self-Test (POST) program module, the system startup bootstrap module, which is responsible for the main board and other computer hardware equipment communication role.
In fact, simply said BIOS is "cured" in the computer hardware of a set of programs, it provides your computer with the lowest level, the most direct hardware control. the BIOS is actually the equivalent of a bridge between the computer hardware and the software program, which is itself a program and can be said to be a software. Our most intuitive understanding of it is the post (power on System test) feature, when the computer is plugged in, the BIOS will verify the self-test of all of its internal devices, including the CPU, memory, read-only memory, system board, CMOS memory, parallel and serial communication subsystem, Floppy disk and hard disk subsystem and keyboard for testing. After the self test is completed, the system will look for the operating system in the specified drive and mount the operating system to the memory.
So where does this BIOS program reside in the computer? The home of BIOS is CMOS memory, CMOS is complementary metal-oxide semiconductor initials, Chinese is complementary metal oxide semiconductor, it is a kind of semiconductor technology, Paired metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) can be integrated on a wafer. This technology is commonly used to produce RAM and switching applications, which produce products with very low power consumption and high tolerances on power supply interference. Specifically to us this refers to a special RAM chip on the computer's motherboard, which is typically 128 bytes or 256 bytes in RAM. the function of CMOS RAM is to save the hardware configuration of the system and the user's setting of certain parameters.
So after understanding the basics of BIOS, do a small experiment today to set the BIOS password to ensure the security of the computer system.
Lab tasks:
Ensure computer system security by setting BIOS password
Ideas and steps:
When the computer is booting through the DEL key or F2 key into the BIOS, set the password, save exit, verify the input user password, enter the administrator password in the authentication.
Specific procedures:
1. 打开虚拟机,点击 ,找到打开电源时启动固件,真实机一般按DEL键或F2键进BIOS(不同品牌的电脑进入BIOS的方法也不一样啊,这里就不给大家一一列举了,如果不知道自己的电脑怎么进BIOS,可以随时问我也可以找我们亲爱的度娘哦),这里我用VMware虚拟机来给大家实验。
2. 进入到BIOS设置界面
3.选择 Security选项
4. 设置管理员密码保存
5. 设置用户密码保存
5.确认开启密码
6.保存设置退出
(You can also save the exit directly via F10).
Result validation
Press del or F2 to enter the BIOS
(1) Enter user password
The option is grayed to prove that the setting password cannot be changed.
(2) Enter the Administrator password
You can choose an option to prove that you can change the setting password.
This way, we can prevent others from changing our BIOS by setting the administrator password and the user password.
