One-second Linux Startup

Source: Internet
Author: User

Embedded Linux system developer Meng Avista is developing a fast-start Linux system with a startup speed of less than 1 second.

Project Team members include Alexander Kaliadin, Nikita Youshchenko, and Cedric Hombourger. One of the things they have done over the past few years is to enable the Linux scheduler to preemptible and determine scheduling. The fast start of Linux they developed is not limited to real-time or embedded Linux platforms, but includes the traditional Linux Desktop release. Kaliadin said they first considered netbooks and mobile Linux devices, but they do not want to customize a one-second boot method for these devices, instead, we hope to enable quick start on a heavyweight release, so we need to develop a new method for kernel and boot loader.
