Oracle BI11 from importing data to configuration

The process is as follows:

1. Store the data table (typically Excel) in the appropriate location, mine is E:\database11\data. (Note that this address is preferably English, no space and other special symbols, otherwise will be error) , found on the computer ODBC data Source Manager-System dns-Add-Create a new data source-select Microsoft Excel Driver, choose your data file.

2. Then import the data in the Oracle BI management tool. (in this process, your data table can not be open, otherwise it will error) in the "Select Metadata Object", be sure to check the data in the library to correctly import the information you want.

3. In the physical layer, right-click carful, Physical chart-only selected objects. To combine the dependencies of the table in your data file with the column names of the tables (dimension tables and fact tables) (whether they match), create a good physical diagram, such as. (note that in the next logical layer you can see that the physical chart you built is correct or not, with # is the fact table.) See the physical chart to understand that it is from the fact table pointing to the dimension table. (dimension tables are used for drilling, can be divided into multiple levels (the following sub-parent), you can analyze the facts from multiple angles) This step should be more checks, to avoid the fact that the direction of the dimension table wrong---otherwise, will be reported "Cannot load xx topic area" error)

4. Drag the carful after the physical diagram to the logical layer, right-click a dimension table, create a logical dimension-a dimension with level-based hierarchies, and the Xxdim dimension will appear (each dimension table needs to be created here with its example);

In Dim Select detail Right-click, new Object-parent, you can name (build the other parent), where "number of elements of this level" from the child to the parent in turn smaller!! (note that the child to the father becomes small!!) Otherwise an error will be made---"Xxdim defines inconsistent values in the number of elements")

Then drag the objects inside the detail into the logical level you just built by following the child-parent relationship.

Then, select the dragged object-new logical level keyword (all), and the "pistol" style in the diagram is correct.

5. Drag the logical layer content to the presentation layer, point Save-check consistency, not error, preferably not warning (otherwise it may affect the web-side display)

6. Go to Oracle Enterprise Manager Web page, click Bussiness intelligence-coreapplication-Lock and edit configuration, OK, deploy-options: Repository. (here, each time you open the RPD file offline, you will need to redeploy it again after the modification is saved and restart the app.) Under Coreapplication-Options: Overview-Management System-reboot, the process is a bit long, be a bit patient)

In the upload BI server repository, select the archive file-the input password (default admin);

Under BI represents directory, change the directory location (note that the last name must be the file name of the archive you just uploaded);

Click Apply on the right side of the BI server repository, and on the right of Change center: Activate the change. Then, "Restart to apply recent changes."

7. Next, you can make a diagram on the Web page. (Note that it is best to use IE or Firefox.) Add-ons-plug-ins to install plugins for subsequent plots)
