Overview of redundant configuration of Oracle 11g OCR

Only one DG can be designated for storage during the 11g installation: CRS, voting

But Oracle's official recommendation is to configure this:

1, when OCR does not configure the mirror, or redundant storage of at least 3 OCR.

If the underlying storage is not raid, Oracle recommends mirroring OCR and mirroring avoids a single point of failure.

At least two OCR locations if OCR-configured on a Oracle ASM disk group.

2. If OCR is configured on Oracle ASM Disk Group, it is recommended that at least two OCR locations

3. Minimum redundancy of 2 OCR is recommended if OCR is configured on mirrored hardware or on 3rd party mirrored volumes
