ArcGIS Product family's web 3D features many users have long been looking forward to, from the ArcGIS 10.3.1 version, Esri put a big recruit, awaited started out of the web 3D function, finally no longer hold the pipa half cover. So how exactly will the 3D scene be created and published? Let's take a note of today's test process.
Test environment
Hardware
- Processor: Intel Core i7 4710MQ @ 2.50GHz
- Memory: 16G
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M
OS
Software
- ArcGIS Pro 1.1.1 (required)
- ArcGIS for Server 10.3.1 (required)
Including:
- Portal for ArcGIS
- ArcGIS Web Adpter (IIS)
- ArcGIS Data Store
- ArcGIS for Desktop 10.3.1
- Cityegnine 2015.2
Prerequisites to know
1. First to ensure that your environment meets system requirements, which is one of the most important and non-negligible conditions, please refer to the following documents:
ArcGIS for Server system requirements
Http://server.arcgis.com/zh-cn/server/latest/install/windows/arcgis-for-server-system-requirements.htm
ArcGIS Pro System Requirements
Http://pro.arcgis.com/zh-cn/pro-app/get-started/arcgis-pro-system-requirements.htm
2. The scene service for ArcGIS is a new type of WEB service that comes from ArcGIS Pro and requires that ArcGIS Pro, which creates and publishes Scene services, be 1.1 or later . In other words, the traditional ArcGIS for Desktop is not able to create and publish scene service at this time.
3. The scene Service support was started from the ArcGIS for Server 10.3.1 version. That is, the slightly earlier version of the 10.3 is also not possible oh. In order to publish 3D data (Multipatch) and 2D data as hosted scene layers in the portal, the necessary installation components are the portal for Arcgis, arcgis data Store . The ArcGIS Data store is used to store the scene layer tile cache used in the scene Service.
4 federate ArcGIS Server with the portal, and designate ArcGIS Server as the hosting server for the portal.
How exactly is it configured? refer to the Help documentation, not detailed here, although slightly cumbersome but there are chapters to follow:
Federated ArcGIS Server sites and Portals
Http://server.arcgis.com/zh-cn/server/latest/administer/windows/federate-an-arcgis-server-site-with-your-portal.htm
Configuring the hosting server
Http://server.arcgis.com/zh-cn/server/latest/administer/windows/configure-hosting-server-for-portal.htm
The process of creating and publishing scene Service
1. Open ArcGIS Pro, create scenes, and add scene data. The building model is the Multipatch Feature Class in File geodatabase.
2. Ensure that the Portal is connected and activated, and that your account has permissions to create content, publish hosted features, and publish hosted scenes.
> 这里需要说明下,目前,只用 Portal for ArcGIS 才支持发布 Multipatch 数据源的 Scene Service。 ArcGIS Online 暂不支持。如果大家的 ArcGIS Pro 是60天试用版本的许可,默认激活的门户是ArcGIS Online,需要添加并切换到一个可用的Portal。
3. Make sure that the scene in ArcGIS Pro is open in Global View. If it is a Local View, you can also switch.
4. Share the scene, analyze the service, make sure there is no Error, if any, need to fix it beforehand.
5. Wait for completion to ensure that all tasks in the job directory are completed successfully.
Depending on the amount of data, the bandwidth is different, the hardware configuration is different, the entire publishing service process time varies.
My test, a total of 89 fine-grained building models, the whole process of releasing about 1 minutes, for reference.

The ArcGIS Scene Viewer needs to support WebGL's desktop Web browser, which is the Web technology standard for rendering 3D graphics.
Click here to test if the browser has WEBGL enabled, open get.webgl.org; To troubleshoot WebGL-related issues, visit the WebGL Troubleshooter .
The ArcGIS Scene Viewer supports these web browsers:chrome, firefox, internet Explorer 11,safari. What I'm using here is that Chrome is Version 47.0.2526.111 m (64-bit).
It looks good.

Just this weekend more leisurely, you can use a relatively continuous time to do the test, the effect is satisfactory, I will do some big data on the test, have time to update.
